Steering system

This week, we take a look at steering system. Its purpose is to basically manouver the direction of the vehicle. Some major components are

Major components:

Steering wheel - control the direction of the car

Wheels - changes direction with accordance to steering wheel

Steering column - connecting the steering wheel to other components

Rack and pinion - converts the rotational motion from the steering wheels to the wheels itself

Steering arms -connecting the rack to the wheels which plays a part in changing direction

Fluid cooler - to cool down the fluid

Power steering - it is used to help drivers put in less effort into steering by adding a greater change in direction to the wheels

Power steering can be broken down into two types:

1) Hydraulic power steering

2) Electric power steering
